🟣🟠🟢 I found my childhood marble collection the other day, stuffed at the back of a cupboard, surrounded by other forgotten things. I looked at each marble, felt a weird urge to eat the big purple ones, and Googled “do adults collect marbles.” 🔵🔴🟡
Cue internet journey💻
I found marble identification forums, collector societies, competitions, and vintage auctions. According to rarest.org, the most expensive marble ever auctioned (a perfect ‘Opaque Lux’ specimen) sold for $25,800 in 2012.
I couldn’t find the marble master who bought it, but I imagine they look something like this: creative, intense, and a bit wacky 🤡
✨ This print is part of my Curious Strangers series, which celebrates the quirks that make people unique ✨
